Several illegal narcotic arrests made during past week by LPSO detectives

Several arrests on illegal narcotic charges have been made during the past couple of weeks by detectives with the LaSalle Parish Sheriff’s Office, according to Sheriff Scott Franklin.

On March 14, LPSO detectives and narcotic investigators responded to a call from a convenience store in Olla in reference to a man acting suspicious in their parking lot.

When officers arrived, they found Roger Dean Carlisle, Jr., 41, of West Monroe, passed out on his knees leaning against his vehicle. Carlisle was shaken awake and questioned about his presence at this business.

Officers determined that Carlisle was under the influence of some type of impairing substance. After receiving permission to check his vehicle for any illegal substances or items, officers found a metal container with several illegal narcotic pills inside, for which Carlisle had no prescription.

Carlisle admitted to officers that he had been taking the pills due to other problems he was experiencing. Officers also found several knives and a 9mm semi-automatic pistol in the vehicle, as well.

Roger Carlisle, Jr. was transported to the LaSalle Parish Courthouse and charged with possession of CDS IV, clonazepam, and possession of CDS IV, alprazolam. He was booked into the parish jail on these charges and later released on $10,000 bond.
