Woman Arrested for Multiple Drug Charges
A 31-year-old Monroe, LA, woman was arrested on multiple drug charges following a disturbance at a Tullos, LA, business last Saturday, according to LaSalle Sheriff Scott Franklin.
Two LaSalle Parish deputy sheriffs responded to a call from Dollar General Store in Tullos last Sunday in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers encountered a white female identified as Sarah M. Johnson, 31, of Monroe, LA, and a white male.
As officers investigated the disturbance, they became suspicious of the two after both gave conflicting stories to the officers. A search of the person of Sarah Johnson revealed that she was in possession of suspected marijuana and illegal narcotic pills. Johnson also had items that appeared to have come from the Dollar General Store, hidden inside her purse. When officers checked with store employees, they verified that the items did come from the store and Johnson had not paid for them.
Sarah Johnson was placed under arrest and transported to the LaSalle Parish Jail in Jena and booked on the following charges: possession of marijuana, possession of CDS IV (Xanax), possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of CDS in presence of a minor, and theft of goods.
As of press time on Monday, Johnson remained in custody awaiting a bond hearing on these charges.
