Three LaSalle Men Arrested and Charged with Narcotic Crimes
Three LaSalle Parish men were arrested and charged with illegal narcotic related crimes following an undercover investigation in the parish, according to LaSalle Sheriff Scott Franklin.
The three arrests were made last Thursday, July 17, 2014 after LPSO narcotic detectives conducted an intensive undercover operation in the Jena and Belah areas.
Detectives had received information that several individuals were involved in selling illegal narcotic drugs in LaSalle Parish, and initiated an investigation focused on them. During these investigations, narcotic detectives were able to obtain evidence of illegal drug sales involving three men: Spencer G. Evans, 57; Spence G. Evans, II, 35; and Brandon K. Evans, 25, all of Trout, LA.
Evidence was obtained that these men sold illegal drugs to an undercover operative. Warrants of arrest were issued as a result. All three men were arrested without incident.
Their charges were:
Spencer G. Evans – distribution of CDS II, methadone.
Spencer G. Evans, II – distribution of CDS II, methamphetamines.
Brandon K. Evans – distribution of CDS II, methadone.
As of press time on Monday, July 28, 2014, all three men remained in the LaSalle Parish Jail awaiting a bond hearing on their charges.
“Again, I want to commend our narcotic detectives for a fine job in conducting this investigation and making these arrests,” Sheriff Franklin said. “We have taken three more people off the street who were intent on selling illegal narcotics to our citizens.”
“Every time we make a drug arrest, we help to reduce the availability of illegal drugs to our young people”, he said.
“We appreciate the cooperation we receive from concerned citizens of the parish who provide us with tips and alarms when they see activities that are suspicious,” he said. “Our narcotic detectives follow up on every tip provided and many times end up making drug cases from the information provided.”
