Deputies and Officers had been investigating Charlie Joe Roshto, 34, of Alexandria, LA, for allegedly supplying marijuana in the north end of LaSalle Parish.  After receiving information that Roshto frequently traveled to  Houston TX, to obtain marijuana for delivery to multiple locations, including Olla, LA; LPSO Deputies along with officers from the Tullos Police Department, and Federal Bureau of Investigations established surveillance on US Hwy 165 in an attempt to apprehend Roshto while he was transporting illegal narcotics.

At approximately 6:30 pm, on January 22, 2010, deputies and officers witnessed Roshto travelling north on Hwy 165, close to Tullos LA.  Roshto was stopped and an LPSO K-9 Team searched his vehicle.  The K-9 alerted the handler to illegal narcotics in or on the vehicle.  A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of approximately 1 ½ pounds of suspected marijuana, along with illegal drug paraphernalia, and the arrest of Charlie Joe Roshto and Frankie June Roshto, 31, of Alexandria LA.  Charlie Joe Roshto was charged with Possession of CDS Schedule 1 (marijuana) with Intent to distribute, and Frankie June Roshto was charged with Possession of CDS Schedule 1 (marijuana).  Both were transported to the LaSalle Parish Jail for booking.  After speaking with the agencies involved, Sheriff Franklin stated that this arrest was a significant victory in the war on illegal narcotics traffic in LaSalle Parish.  He also stated that we still have large scale use and sale of illegal narcotics in the Parish which means that we must continue our efforts to apprehend anyone who sells or uses illegal narcotics.
