Dumpster Diving Leads to Charges

Scavenging in a dumpster last Wednesday led to the arrest of two women on narcotic charges, according to LaSalle Parish Sheriff Scott Franklin.

On the afternoon of June 28, 2017, at LPSO deputy sheriff noticed a female scavenging in the dumpsters on LA 459 and observed her remove an item from the dumpster.

The deputy identified the woman to be Tiffany Deville, 34, of Trout, and located another female at the site identified as Della Henry, 52, of Trout.

A LPSO K-9 deputy was contacted to come to the scene to utilize his K-9 partner for an exterior search of the vehicle the two women were in and the K-9 gave a positive alert and the deputies began searching the inside of the truck.

Inside a purse belonging to Della Henry, deputies found clonazepam, a CDS IV narcotic. Deputies searched a bag belonging to Tiffany Deville and found a small piece of tin foil containing suspected methamphetamine, a CDS II narcotic.

Deville and Henry were both transported to the LaSalle Parish Jail in Jena to be booked.

Deville was charged with possession of CDS II – methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and scavenging.

Henry was charged with possession of CDS IV – clonazepam, possession of drug paraphernalia, and open container.
