Jena Man Arrested for Drug Distribution
A 32-year-old Jena, LA, man was arrested and charged with drug distribution on Thursday, February 27, 2014, by LaSalle Parish Sheriff’s Office narcotic detectives, according to Sheriff Scott Franklin.
Detectives had obtained evidence that Dameian D. Collins, 32, of 588 Murray Street, Jena, LA, sold suspected marijuana to an undercover operative working for the Sheriff’s Office. A warrant was obtained for the arrest of Collins after an investigation of the illegal drug sales.
During the arrest, detectives found suspected marijuana on Collins’ person. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the LaSalle Parish Jail. He was booked on the following charges: distribution of CDS I, marijuana, 2 counts; and possession of CDS I, marijuana, third offense.
Collins remained in the LaSalle Parish Jail at press time and no bond had been set. However; Collins is on probation with the Louisiana Department of Probation and Parole, which placed a hold on him that prevented him from bonding out of jail.
