Former LaSalle Parish Resident Charged with Murder
Eugene Stickle, 49, of Bass Lane in the Woolen Lake area of Richland Parish, across Beouf River from Hebert, LA in Caldwell Parish, was arrested and charged May 6, 2015, according to Richland Parish Sheriff Lee Harrell. Stickle was arrested at the crime scene at 28 Bass Lane late that afternoon.
Harrell said a preliminary investigation revealed Stickle had a physical altercation with his girlfriend, Brandy Branch, 35, also of the Woolen Lake area. Witnesses reported seeing Stickle physical assaulting Branch, as she attempted to get away from him.
Branch was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Richland Parish Coroner’s Office. Her body was sent to Little Rock, Arkansas, for an autopsy. The exact cause of death is still pending, Harrell said.
The Richland Parish Sheriff’s Office is being assisted in the investigation by the Louisiana State Police.
