Trio arrested last Thursday; Charged with illegal narcotics

A check on two individuals near Jena last Thursday by probation and parole agents along with LaSalle detectives, led to three of the people being arrested and charged with possession of illegal narcotics, according to LaSalle Sheriff Scott Franklin.
On the morning of Thursday, May 9, 2019, LPSO detectives accompanied Louisiana Probation and Parole agents to a residence off of Blade Loop near Jena.
Two of the individuals inside the home were on probation. They were identified as Deborah Carraway, 49, of Colfax, and John Wright, 52, of Jena. The homeowner was also present and was identified as Richard Breithaupt, 51, of Jena.
Breithaupt indicated that a water bong was present in the home, and John Wright was asked about having any weapons or narcotics to which he responded that he had methamphetamine.
A continued search of a bedroom revealed a bag containing suspected methamphetamine inside a purse belonging to Carraway, along with a suspected valium on a bedside table.
Before ending the search, detectives observed an object on top of a cabinet in the kitchen and it was determined to be a glass smoking device containing suspected methamphetamine.
All three were arrested and transported to the LaSalle Parish Jail for booking.
Deborah Carraway was booked on the charges of possession of CDS II methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of CDS IV valium, possession of drug paraphernalia, and probation violation.
John Wright was booked on the charges of possession of CDS II methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and probation violation.
Richard Breithaupt was booked on charges of possession of CDS II methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
