Trespass complaint investigation leads to the arrest of pair

On the evening of Thursday, January 17, while investigating a trespass complaint on Green Acres Road, a LPSO K-9 deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle that was occupied by Bradley Mayo, age 61, of Olla, and Kyra Boyd, age 25, of Jena.

Mayo was placed under arrest due to a warrant on the charge of illegal possession of stolen things.  The passenger, Kyra Boyd, was asked to step out of the vehicle and appeared very nervous as she was pacing back and forth.

As Boyd approached the deputies’ unit, she went across the Green Acres Rd. and was observed throwing a small object into the wooded area.

The K-9 deputy observed the object to be a small clear baggie containing suspected methamphetamine.  A further search was conducted of the wooded area to which officers located more suspected methamphetamine along with drug paraphernalia.

Kyra Boyd was booked on charges of possession of CDS II methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and obstruction of justice.

Bradley Mayo was booked on warrant for the charge of illegal possession of stolen things.
