Traffic Stop Leads to Woman’s Arrest

A routine traffic stop last Wednesday night led to the arrest of the driver on several charges, including possession of a legend drug.

Authorities said the deputy stopped a vehicle on U.S. 84 on Wednesday night for an equipment violation.

The deputy made contact with the driver identified as Nickie Brasell and found that she was driving on a suspended driver’s license.

Deputies obtained consent to search the vehicle, and during the search, located Baclofen, a muscle relaxant.

Baclofen is not listed under control dangerous substances, but still requires a prescription to obtain making it a Legend Drug. Brasell was arrested and transported to the LaSalle Parish Jail, where she was booked on the charges of possession of a legend drug, driving under suspension, and headlight out. Her total bond was $6,250.
