Traffic stop leads to narcotic arrest

A routine traffic stop by a LaSalle Parish Deputy Sheriff led to the arrest of a passenger in the vehicle on illegal narcotic charges.

In the early morning hours of Sunday, April 28 the deputy stopped a vehicle on US Hwy 84 in Trout for failing to stop at a stop sign.  The deputy approached the vehicle and spoke to the driver along with the passenger, identified to be Charty Price, age 36, of Ball. 

Consent was given to search the vehicle, and when deputies asked the occupants to empty their pockets it was at that time a deputy noticed a flashlight hidden in Price’s sleeve. 

Price also possessed a bag of methamphetamine and a pipe in her pants along with the flashlight containing three plastic baggies hidden inside. 

Price was arrested and transported to the LaSalle Parish Jail and booked on the charges of possession of CDS II – methamphetamine with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.
