Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Arrest

     On February 23rd, while on patrol in LaSalle Parish, a LaSalle Parish Sheriff’s Office deputy witnessed a vehicle’s driver committing driving violations. The deputy pulled the vehicle over to speak with the driver. When the deputy identified the driver, Carolyn A. Guin, 52, of Alexandria, he could smell the odor of burning marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.

Upon inquiring about this smell, the officer was given consent to look inside the vehicle and discovered a container with marijuana and a marijuana cigarette inside a cooler in the vehicle.
Guin was placed under arrest for this crime and other driving offenses and transported to the LaSalle Parish Sheriff’s Office. She was booked on the following charges: no turn signal, open container, driving under suspension and possession of CDS I, marijuana.

She was released on a $3,000 bond.
