Local Woman Dies in Crash

A 47-year-old LaSalle Parish woman died in a single vehicle crash in the southern part of the parish last Tuesday, July 8, 2014, according to Louisiana State Police.

Amy L. Webb, 47, of Jena, was pronounced dead at the scene by a LaSalle Parish Deputy Coroner.

Troopers responded to the crash around 12:20 p.m., Tuesday, which occurred on LA Hwy 127 south of LA Hwy 777 (Nebo highway).

The crash involved a 2000 Ford SUV, driven by Webb, who was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle during the crash.

The Ford was northbound on LA 127 when Webb apparently lost control and exited the left side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the vehicle collided with a dirt embankment before overturning several times.

Routine toxicology tests are pending, and the crash remains under investigation.

Louisiana State Police would like to take this opportunity to remind/inform motorists that properly wearing seatbelts will dramatically reduce chances of being injured or killed in a crash.

Troop E Troopers have investigated 25 fatal crashes in 2014, resulting in 28 fatalities.
