LASALLE WOMAN ARRESTED FOR PRESCRIPTION FRAUD

A Jena woman was arrested on Wednesday, November 14, 2012, for illegally obtaining controlled dangerous substances by fraud. Kristen D. Reeves, 30, of Jena, was arrested at her home after narcotic detectives with the LaSalle Parish Sheriff’s Office discovered that she had been forging doctor’s prescriptions and passing them at area pharmacies.

When detectives arrived at her home, she became compliant and admitted to forging several prescriptions. A search of Reeves’ home and vehicle turned up more blank prescription pads from area physicians, some of which were already filled out for various controlled substances and illegally forged  physicians signatures.

Detectives secured all of this evidence and Reeves was transported to the LaSalle Parish Jail and booked on the charges of obtaining controlled dangerous substances by fraud and obtaining legend drugs by misrepresentation . Narcotic detectives are keeping this case open, as there appears to be other possible evidence of further crimes involving Reeves in this and other jurisdictions.
