Fugitive Arrested for Drug Offense
A fugitive from Rapides Parish was arrested in northern LaSalle Parish last Sunday, January 26, 2014, and charged with illegal narcotic possession, according to LaSalle Sheriff Scott Franklin.
While an LPSO deputy was on patrol in northern LaSalle Parish on Sunday, January 26, the deputy noticed two white females walking down the side of US HWY 84 near Tullos, LA. The officer stopped to see if the pair needed any assistance and recognized one of the females as being Christie C. Wells, 34, of Tullos, LA. Wells was a fugitive from crimes committed in Rapides Parish’s jurisdiction. Wells was placed under arrest at that time without incident.
A search of Wells’ clothing and belongings revealed that she was also in possession of suspected methamphetamines. A small zip lock baggie containing the suspected illegal drug was found in her possession.
Wells was transported to the LaSalle Parish Sheriff’s Office where she was booked on the following charges: fugitive from Rapides Parish; possession of CDS II, methamphetamine; and probation hold.
As of press time on Monday, January 27, 2014, Wells remained in the LaSalle Parish Jail and no bond had been set.
