Five people were arrested during the past week on illegal narcotic charges, according to LaSalle Parish Sheriff Scott Franklin.
On February 5, 2013, narcotics detectives and other deputies from the LaSalle Parish Sheriff’s office served a search warrant at 164 Tarpley Road in the Belah Community. The warrant was served after information was obtained that illegal narcotics, specifically methamphetamines, were being used and sold out of this residence.
Detectives and deputies formulated a plan to execute this search warrant and arrived at this residence very late Tuesday night.
Upon entry into the home, detective and deputies encountered four people, namely: Kimberly Sikes Sharp, 34, who lived at this residence; Bridgette Spruell, 29, of 1060 Green Terrace Apartments in Jena; Tasha Zocher, 33, of Courtney Lane in Jena; and Jack Young, II, 27, of 325 Fred Scott Road in Pollock.
All four were found in the bedroom of the residence and had an array of illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia lying on the bed among them. All four were detained at that time and questioned about this matter.
It was discovered that, besides methamphetamines, other illegal drugs were present as well. All illegal items were secured as evidence in this case and all four were transported to the LaSalle Parish Sheriff’s Office where they were each booked into jail on the following charges: possession of CDS II, methamphetamine; possession of CDS III, hydrocodone, 2 counts; possession of CDS III, codeine; possession of marijuana; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
As of press time on Monday, all four remained in jail awaiting a bond hearing on these charges.
