The LaSalle Parish Sheriff’s Office will participate in the annual ‘National Drug Take-Back Day’ on Saturday, October 28, according to Sheriff Scott Franklin.
LaSalle Parish residents can rid their homes of expired or unused prescription drugs by dropping them off at the Sheriff’s Office in Jena or Olla Sub-Station, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. that Saturday.
If pharmacies or doctor offices need to drop off their expired or unused drugs, contact Deputy Jenny Parker, D.A.R.E. officer, before the event for instructions on how to secure the drugs properly before transporting them to the LPSO.
This program has disposed of nearly 700 tons of medication at more than 5,300 sites operated by over 4,000 state and local law enforcement agencies in the past four years.
