Contraband Arrest at LCC

A LaSalle Parish man was arrested and booked October 7, 2013 on charges of introduction/possession of contraband while housed in a penal facility.

William Dale Keene, 37, an inmate at the LaSalle Correctional Center in Urania, LA, was arrested when officers discovered that Keene was in possession of items considered to be drug paraphernalia, namely homemade pipes used to smoke illegal narcotic drugs, and also possessed suspected controlled dangerous substances.

Keene was removed from general population and placed in administrative segregation until the investigation was complete.
LaSalle Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotic detectives were called to take over the investigation. Keene was transported to Jena, LA, and booked into the LaSalle Parish Jail for the crime of introduction and/or possession of contraband in a penal institution. He was later returned to the LaSalle Correctional Center.

Narcotic detectives may bring further charges against Keene after the contraband items are analyzed by the North Louisiana Crime Lab and a determination is made as to what controlled dangerous substance he possessed.
