A complaint of a water meter being damaged near the Jena Rodeo Arena led LaSalle Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives to arrest two men on various charges last week, according to Sheriff Scott Franklin.
On Tuesday, January 31, LPSO detectives went to a residence on Hwy 778 close to the Jena Rodeo Arena to investigate a complaint of a water meter being damaged so that water could be received in the home. Detectives met with the residents Wesley Eubanks Jr. and Willie Jordan, and during the course of the investigation received consent to search their residence.
During the search, detectives located drug paraphernalia with suspected methamphetamine throughout the home, and it was admitted to detectives that the water meter was damaged so that they could receive water.
Wesley Eubanks, Jr., age 30, of Jena, was booked for the charges of criminal damage to property, theft of utility, possession of CDS II – methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Willie Jordan, age 40, of Jena, was booked for the charges of theft of utility, possession of CDS II methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
William Jones, age 25, of Jena, was arrested Wednesday, February 1, after LPSO detectives located him laying down in the back seat of a truck in the Jena Walmart parking lot. Jones was wanted on a probation violation warrant, and when he was arrested, detectives located suspected marijuana in a hoodie that belonged to him.
Jones was transported to the LaSalle Parish Jail and booked on the charges of probation violation, possession of CDS I – marijuana 2nd offense, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
On the night of Tuesday, January 31, a LPSO deputy made traffic stop on US Hwy 165 for a traffic violation. The deputy spoke with the driver identified to be Samuel Buckner, 25, of Pineville, and when the deputy was speaking with him an odor of marijuana was detected.
A LPSO K-9 deputy arrived to utilize his K-9 for a search of the vehicle. The K-9 gave a positive alert and a zip lock bag full of marijuana was located in the vehicle.
Buckner was arrested and transported to the LaSalle Parish Jail. He was booked for charges of improper lane usage, switched plates, no insurance, felony possession of CDS I – marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
